  • Questionhello, we need to replace our GE Profile Spacemaker II microwave Model JEM31SA. I measure 11 1/2 H x 23" W x 12" deep. It sits in a cabinet, not on the counter top. Will the 0.7 cu Ft work, or do you recommend another one? Thanks.

Model JES1072SHSS is 10 3/16"H x 17 5/16"W x 12 3/4"D and can be placed in a cabinet as long as you allow 3" of air clearance on both sides and the top and 1" clearance in the rear. Microwaves need adequate air clearance on each side, the rear and the top to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents. The comparable model is GE Profile™ 1.1 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven Model #:PEM31SFSS (Dimensions: 12 1/8H x 24W x 12 7/8D). This model is compatible with optional 27" Trim Kit JX827SFSS and 30" JX830SFSS for installation in a cabinet.     • Answer Hi Ginnie - Thanks for viewing GE! All of our microwaves are hinged on the left side. This means the door will open at the right and swing to the left. Most models have a 100 degree door swing. Microwave doors are not reversible. Allow 1/2" clearance on the hinge side if the microwave is against a wall or deep cabinet. Capacity Countertop Microwave Oven Model # JEM3072SHSS is compatible with Optional Undercabinet Hanging Kit JXA019K (sold separately). Do not install directly against a side wall or cabinet and allow 2" air clearance on each side of the microwave. No additional air clearance is required in the rear beyond the included spacer/rear brackets. If installed in a cabinet with the hanging kit, allow 2" on each side and at the bottom.
