QuestionHello, I want to put this microwave on an open shelf, but the shelf is a little bit shallow. I need to know exactly how far from the back the front feet are located, so I can be sure it can stand on the shelf with 1 inch extra at the back for air flow.

QuestionWhat does "PF" mean when it appears after I plug in the microwave. Model# JES1072SHSS. I suspect it means power failure. However, the power hasn't failed. There was no mention of it in the instructions. Thank you ahead of time for the clarification.

- Answer Hello Home2 - If a power failure should occur, a microwave, depending on the model, may display a "PF", "888" or "8888" code. It is possible to see this display upon initial installation or after power was restored due to a power failure. Both display codes can be cancelled and normal operation resumed by touching the CLEAR pad. You may now reset the clock on models so equipped. - TREY@GEA

Questionwhy every once a while my microwave say food and start cooking

- Answer How can I use my microwave without having to open and close the door to just get rid of a stupid message saying insert food when food is in it. The idea that I have to open and close it to just get it do what it was built to do is wild. Like what brain dead moron came up with that idea. Add a weight sensor in it instead and if the sensor doesn’t sense weight on the plate then it doesn’t cook. Considering how easy it is to use a weight sensor there shouldn’t be some insert food bs because the latch wasn’t touched recently then never works because I refuse to open and close it just to cook my dam food that’s already in there.

QuestionMicrowave gets quite hot to the touch when in use - Also cord touches the micro in the back.It seems to have all the space it needs for ventilation - might that be why it is getting hot though? Also should I tape cord up so it will be raised and not touch the microwave?

- Answer Hello LDSINKG - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. It is normal to feel a warm outer case on the control panel side. The heat is normal and comes from the power transformer. Further, cooking foods in a microwave oven for an extended period of time can cause a heat transfer not only to the internal oven walls and floor, but to the external cabinet as well. QuestionI currently have a GE Profile Spacemaker II JEM31SF in a custom cabinet. I need to replace it but unfortunately cannot find a model that is similar 11 3/16 H x 23 7/8 W x 12 9/32 deep. I cannot have a height that is over 11 3/16 and 12 3/4 deep? help?

- Answer I had the exact same problem. Unless you want to spend $375 on the GE model that replaces the Spacemaker, this one is fine. It will not fill the space but I just put a few cookbooks next to it.
