Q: QuestionJUST LOST MY BELOVED G.E. JW531, SERIAL 603498. THE OLD DIMENTIONS WERE GREAT FOR MY KITCHEN. APPROX. H 15.5 IN. W 30 IN. D 14 IN. THE MICROWAVE LASTED OVER 35 YEARS WITH LITTLE PROBLEMS. IT APPEARS THE MAGNETRON OR DIODE OR CAPACITOR ARE NOW AT FAULT.

• A:Answer All of our current over-the-range microwaves, including convection, Advantium ovens, vent hoods, and telescopic downdraft vents can be installed over gas ranges and cooktops, with a combined surface burner BTU rating of approximately 65,000 BTUs or less. As long as the 66" minimum clearance from the floor to the top of the microwave is followed there will be no issues.

We have multiple models that may be a good fit for you, including JVM6175DKBB. Please note that you should use the mounting bracket and hardware that comes with the new microwave, rather than trying to use an old bracket or hardware; the design can change over time and is model-specific, so we can’t speak to the compatibility and reliability if you use old hardware. Q: Questionge model#JV316DJWW does the vent motor suppose to run whenever you use the microwave? pushing the vent button only gives you speed of motor does not turn it off. is this the way it is suppose to work? Or do I have a faulty unit?
