Q: QuestionIs it normal for the fan to be very loud when cooking? The vent fan isn't on.
Asked by Terripal.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave with Convenience Cooking Controls - Stainless Steel
- A:Answer Remove the exhaust hood, make sure the exhaust system isnt restricted. While mine was running it was producing almost 80dB! removing my exhaust reduced it almost to a whisper (Something in the exhaust hood was pinning the flap if using external venting). When the exhaust is restricted it runs very loud, fan speed increases. Wish GE manuals/responses was more descriptive than saying noise while running is normal, they dont account for this simple issue.
