Q: QuestionOld micro wave model JYM1540DM2WW. Will model JVM3160 DFWW mount in the same bracket?

• A:Answer Hi Charli! Thanks for reaching out. When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. In the event of service, GE will provide any part of the microwave oven which fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship. From the date of the During this limited one-year warranty, GE will also provide, free of charge, all labor and original purchase related service costs to replace the defective part when the unit is serviced. • A:Answer Hi 2858! We appreciate your question. We found that this is supposed to happen. Over-the-range microwaves have an automatic fan feature to help protect the electronic components, and also helps the cooking area get rid of excess heat. The built-in thermostat automatically turns the vent fan on if the unit is too hot, and will not turn off until the microwave is cool again. You will not be able to turn the vent fan off manually during this time. We hope this helps! Emily@GEA

This microwave is designed with a 13.5" glass turntable that can be easily removed for cleaning. We recommend leaving the turntable on for best cooking results, this model has Turntable On/Off control that allows it to be turned off for large dishes. It is not equipped with any shelf, glass tray, metal tray, or wire rack that may be found in an Advantium oven to use with different cooking modes. • A:Answer We just replaced a similar GE microwave too. Ours was from 2015, maybe 2014. The vent fan was in the exact same place and yes you are able to change the vent to go UP or BACK.
