Q: QuestionI have a GE 1.6 CU Ft. over the range microwave with s/n SH260909A This microwave keep tripping the fuse as you enter a number to use it. GE has replaced the door twice and I have also had the door lock sensors switched replaced but still the same. why?

Q: QuestionWill this new model JVM3160DFWW fit and replace my old model JVM1430WA-001? And will I need anything extra for installation? Will the holes above the cabinet be the same?

• A:Answer Hi Lil - We certainly appreciate your loyalty! Model JVM3160DFWW will fit in the same space as model JVM1430WA-001. All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. However, when replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. Q: QuestionCan this microwave be built in? My contractor is building a cabinet to hold a wall oven and a microwave - each about 30" wide. My other appliances are bisque, but I cannot find a bisque counter top microwave. He can construct the opening as needed.

• A:Answer Hi Penny - Thanks for considering GE! Over-the-range microwaves cannot be installed in a cabinet or cut-out space where the bottom is covered. Also, these models cannot be used on a counter or shelf. The underside is not flat and would not provide a stable surface. Additionally, there can be a heat issue, especially if the exhaust vent fan or surface lights under the unit were accidentally turned on. It can be installed under a cabinet, even if there is not a range or cooktop underneath; however, the height clearances must still be met. Over- the-range models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. This can also be measured as 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to. • A:Answer Hi Tony - Thanks for considering GE Model JVM3160RFSS! Over- the- range models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. This can also be measured as 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to. This allows about 14" from the cooktop to bottom of microwave.
