Please try again later.yes the inside of the unit is steel painted white, but, right in the center of the inside top is a seven (7") inch round plastic cover for the inside vent fan . Running the microwave while metal is inside is dangerous and can cause sparking which could cause a fire. It may also damage the microwave magnetron tube shutting down the unit. Be careful!
