“We just purchased and installed this microwave. The very first time we used it we noticed the fan came on as soon as the cooking started. It is not because the unit needs to cool- it simply turns on every time we use it. It is loud & bothersome.”

If you have not done so, please try to reset the internal electronics of the unit by disconnecting power, waiting for a few minutes, and then restoring power. If this does not help and your fan comes on each time you cook with the microwave, this may require a service appointment to further diagnose.
