A:AnswerHello, all 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. As a note, when replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. You can find more about product and cabinet dimensions in the quick specs, linked here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=JVM7195SK_EK_C3.pdf The model you are looking at would be a great replacement! To see more information about that microwave, please see the use and care manual here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40766-2.pdf The model has similar sensor controls as your previous microwave, such as: Popcorn, Beverage, Potato, Melt, Reheat, and Defrost: Weight/Time. Additionally, this microwave comes with great features such as: Steam Clean, Power Level Adjustment, and a Vent Fan. I hope this helps! -Chris
A:AnswerThe microwaves appear to be different cu ft. I would check the dimensions of each unit. I replaced an old GE microwave that had the same dims and cubic feet and was able to reuse the wall bracket. It was an easy installation.

A:AnswerHi Jwal - Yes, the microwave has a Timer feature. Timer On/Off operates as a minute timer and can be used at any time, even when the oven is operating. Explore our sleek Black Stainless Appliances at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/black-stainless-steel-appliances.htm - Thanks for your interest! Sue
A:AnswerHi Chelle - Thanks for reaching out to us! The microwave cooking wattage is 1000. If you have multiple appliances on the same circuit, this could affect the cooking wattage. The microwave requires a 120 volt individual, properly grounded branch circuit with a 3 prong grounding type receptacle, protected by a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse. Over-the-range models should be on a dedicated circuit. Check out the following link for tips- FOOD TAKING TOO LONG TO COOK IN MICROWAVE: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18799 - Also, you may want to follow the below steps to test the performance of your microwave: Place a glass bowl (preferably a 2qt. glass measuring bowl) with 1qt. of water in the center of the microwave cavity. The water must be 59-75 degrees Fahrenheit (15-24 degrees Celsius).
Heat the water for exactly 2 minutes 30 seconds on High (this is the default setting). A temperature rise in the range of 28-40 degrees Fahrenheit (15-22 degrees Celsius) indicates that the oven is cooking properly. If you feel that your food is still not cooking properly, then we would recommend having your microwave checked by a service technician. Please schedule an appointment with GE Appliances Factory Service at GEAppliances.com/service or call 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). Keep in touch! Sue
A:AnswerHi Nancy - We certainly appreciate your loyalty! While our current over-the-range microwaves offer a night light setting, it is not programmable. Keep in touch! Sue
A:AnswerHi JB - The unit has a Four-speed, 400-CFM venting fan system to quickly removes smoke, steam and odors from the cooktop to keep kitchen air fresh and clean. Sue
A:AnswerHi Cul - It can be installed under a cabinet, even if there is not a cooking surface underneath; however, the height clearances must still be met. Over- the- range models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. This can also be measured as 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to. We suggest to view page 7 of the Owner's Manual- MOUNTING SPACE: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40765.pdf - Keep in touch! Sue
A:AnswerHi Barry - The microwave is shipped from the factory to vent out the top (vertically). No kit required. Check out the Installation Instructions for complete details: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40765.pdf - All over-the-range microwaves can be vented to the outside using an equivalent total of 140 feet of rigid 3 1/4" x 10" rectangular or rigid 6" round ducting (sold separately). Thanks for choosing GE! Sue
A:AnswerHi Char - Thanks for choosing GE! The power cord comes out of the top of the unit on the right side (facing the front of the microwave). It is approximately a 40" power cord (including the plug and base of cord). You can view the top cabinet template at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-41061.pdf - Also, see pages 13-14 of the Installation Instructions: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40765.pdf - Keep in touch! A:AnswerThis has happened to my previous 3 microwaves over the years. Each time, it was something called a magnetron. It is a very expensive part - usually over 100.00 for just the part. To me, it isn’t cost effective. Microwaves seem to last only 3-4 years. We have just replaced them, but will no longer buy the fanciest ones. We have been lucky to find great deals on open box items.
