A:AnswerHi JEMML - The cardboard cover on the right top or side wall of the microwave interior is there by design. The cardboard (mica) covers the waveguide system that feeds microwave energy into the cavity and should not be removed. The microwave should not be used for any function if this cardboard cover is not in place. If removed, it would require service to replace.
To clean, follow the instructions in the owner's manual for cleaning the interior of the oven. The same instructions apply. A:AnswerThey are not all the same width. Whoever made the cabinet opening in my house did not make it 30 inches wide. It is a little narrower and a standard 29 7/8 microwave is too wide. A 29 3/4 microwave is a very snug fit. I would double check the size of the opening. It should be 30 inches. Good luck.
A:AnswerHi 1952- Yes! This model has "Add 30 Sec" option. You can use this feature two ways: It will add 30 seconds to the time counting down each time the pad is pressed. It can be used as a quick way to set 30 seconds of cooking time. Thanks for choosing GE. Enjoy! Sue
A:AnswerThe only thing that actually 'vents' air from a microwave is the Vent Fan. That fan must be connected to an exhaust outlet and it is turned either On or Off from the front control panel.
But, Yes, you can definitely cook in the microwave without turning the vent fan on.
A:AnswerHi Gigi- You will need to make sure the turntable is seated properly. If it continues to make the mentioned loud noise when seated properly, please contact GE Appliances Factory Service at 1-800-432-2737 or schedule a service appointment online: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm?ICID=GEARsupportflyout-service - Thanks for reaching out to us! A:AnswerHello DOVE55 - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and we are happy to help you. The current over-the-range microwaves that also offer the auto night light feature are the Advantiums. The Advantiums have both oven and microwave capability. We hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerYes, vents to either top or back (does require flipping the vent fan if you need it to vent out the back as the standard configuration it top venting).
A:AnswerI'd say, both. The key pad definitely black. The door panel has a see through screen-that is black & a dark grey (I.e., blackish, but a bit lighter than the screen) appearance bordering this window. I hope this helps.
A:AnswerHi Nancy- The only difference in JVM7195SKSS (Stainless Steel) and JVM7195EKES (Slate) is color. Also, JVM7195SKSS has Melt and DVM7195SKSS has Steam Cook and My Cycle (Create a custom cook time setting, and with one touch, cook your favorite dish just the way you like.) We're excited to have you in the GE Appliances Family! SUE@GEA
A:AnswerHi Miniaussiemom- Over- the- range microwave ovens must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. This can also be measured as 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to. This will allow adequate space between the cooktop and bottom of microwave. We encourage you to view page 7 of the Installation Instructions at the following link for more details: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40765.pdf - Thanks for making GE Appliances a part of your home!
