Q: QuestionI need to replace my GE over the range microwave. Model no. JVM1950SR1SS. What models are suitable replacements with the same dimensions? Thanks

• A:Answer Almost all over the range microwave have similar dimensions. The difference s are often in the wall mounting bracket’s. You will likely have to remount the new dedicated bracket that comes with your new unit as the old may not fit.

Q: QuestionI need to replace my GE microwave JNM1953SF1SS whose dimensions are 16.5 x 29.75 x 15.50 What do you recommend? It "just" fits in the cabinetry space with no room to spare.

Model JVM7195SKSS would be the closest replacement, but all 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. There isn't a direct replacement but the following models would be comparable. Model PVM9005SJSS has a different style control panel but it would be a nice replacement. • A:Answer I had an older model that I was replacing and they did end up changing the brackets. I asked about it and they explained that while they might have been able to use the older brackets, the ones that went with this unit were a slight upgrade.

• A:Answer Hello. Thanks for reaching out! All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. Just note that, when replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. Model JVM6175EKES would make a great replacement. • A:Answer Hi! Wonderful question. All microwaves have a window in the door that has a mesh screen inside of it. This screen helps keep the microwaves inside the cavity, and is a necessary part of the microwave. You may find that the screen makes it difficult to see your food as it is cooking. Although it is difficult to see detail, the window should allow you to see if there are any problems while cooking, like arcing, burning, boil-overs, etc. If you need to check on your food, opening the door will pause the microwave. • A:Answer Hi - We appreciate your interest in a new GE over-the-range microwave. The Steam Clean feature is a convenient and easy-to-use feature to help remove cooked or dried on food soils from the interior of the microwave by generating steam to re-hydrate dried spills/splatters making them easier to remove. To use - 1) Press the Steam Clean button. 2) Fill a microwave safe bowl with 1/4 cup of water. 3) Press Start. - Once the cycle is complete, carefully remove the turntable and turntable support and wipe out the inside of the oven cavity with a paper towel or soft cloth and that's it. One more way to allow you to spend less time in the kitchen cleaning. We do hope you choose this lovely GE microwave for your home. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA

Q: QuestionThe max depth is 13 inches. Why? Our cabinets are 13.5, don't really want a whole bump out part that would have it sticking way too far out. Is there any recommendations for this depth or ways to adapt?
