I suggest you obtain a thermometer which read down into the minus, I was told once that ice cream and orange juice to be frozen hard should be zero to minus ten. Other items can be zero to twenty degrees and be okay. Of course it depends on how often you are opening the lid. Again as cold air is heavier than warmer the coldest spots generally will be at the bottom of a chest style freezer. So trial of watching thermometer and moving the dial to get the proper setting for your situation. The colder you set the dial the more is will run to maintain that setting.
