Hello BB, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your interest in this GE chest freezer. This is a great question and we are happy to help. The running amps for this unit is 1.35. We do recommend multiplying that by 2 to account for the momentary surge when the compressor kicks on. You take that figure and multiply it by the voltage (120) to arrive at wattage (volts x amps = watts). We hope this helps, feel free to reach out again with any other questions you may have.
