“I have the JVW5301 30inch pyramid and need 30'3/4 of vent, what vent do I need? From reading other questions I gather you should not cut to fit. Also, is this 10' kit vented on the side so you can recirculate? Thanks”

Hi, Thanks for reaching out, we're happy to help you today! The optional accessories available for this model are UXDC53SJSS - 10 (ft.) Ceiling Duct Cover Kit and UXDC72SJSS - 9 (ft.) Ceiling Duct Cover. Although we have not tested this, cutting the duct cover would not negatively impact the product. Clearly if a mistake is made when cutting the duct cover down a few inches, the warranty will not cover that damage. New holes will have to be drilled on the flange to attach it to the bracket. Also, make sure to install it at least 24” above the cooking surface, as identified in the installation instructions. The duct cover is a common design used when venting outside or recirculating. The "cutout"/louvers on the side are used for recirculating. It serves no other purpose.
