We bought this as an additional fridge for the basement. Since hooking it up, I don't hear it running when I'm near it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Shifty- Thanks for viewing! Our refrigerators continue to be manufactured with as quiet an operation as possible. Decibel ratings are not available. Newer refrigerators sounds different from older refrigerator. Modern refrigerators have more features and use new technology. The high efficiency compressor may run faster and longer than your old refrigerator and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating depending on kitchen acoustics, flooring type, etc. See page 15 of the Owner's Manual for normal operating sounds: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60695-1.pdf - Also, view a short video about normal top freezer refrigerator sounds: https://www.youtube.com/embed/1KbRYkk5rWc?rel=0 - Keep in touch! Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unless you're using it as an air conditioner. I do not (correct me if I'm wrong), expect any modern refrigerator to be so loud as to warrant replacing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have 2 refrigerators, one is LG and this GE is the new one. LG is a bit less noisy but not much. It's almost comparable when their compressors work but GE take more time to stop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn't seem too loud to me. It went from a background noise level of 37db to 47db when it turned on.
