Slate is a highly engineered, low-gloss matte metallic paint finish and will hold a magnet. It resists fingerprints and doesn't show dirt. To clean, wipe with a soft clean cloth using a mild household detergent then dry with a clean soft cloth. We are glad you checked! Olga

• Yes stainless steel show’s fingersprints but Slate shows NONE. I LOVE this refrigerator.
