Does this microwave really not have an interior cooking light? If there is a light, is it easily changeable from inside the oven?   (1 Answer)

      Answer

Hello Linds - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and we are happy to help you. This is a very nice countertop microwave. Yes, it does have an interior light which will come on when the door is opened and while it is cooking. The oven light is located within the inside walls of the microwave oven and would require a service technician to be replaced. We hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

  • Question
No, I'll put question differently. At bottom of outside of microwave unit what is the distance between back of unit and front feet?   (1 Answer)

      Answer

Hi Cjeannea- The distance from the rear of the microwave to the front feet is approximately 16". It is important to note that the surface the microwave stands on should be the depth of the microwave, not just the depth to the front legs. This is a recommended safety precaution. Microwaves need adequate air clearance on each side, the rear and the top to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents. Countertop Models: 3" of clearance on both sides and the top and 1" clearance in the rear. The front edge of the microwave (measured at door) should sit at least 3" or more back on the counter or shelf to avoid accidental tipping. • Question
Thinking about getting this microwave to replace GE JEB1860SM2SS. It looks like both has pretty much same dimensions. Can I use the trim kit I have for the current microwave. The current one also says countertop. It came with the house and is built in.   (1 Answer)

      Answer

Hi Replacement- This is Sue at GE Appliances. We certainly appreciate your loyalty! A built-in trim kit is not available for model JES2051SNSS. A built-in capable microwave will list the 27" and 30" trim kit for that model in the product specifications. Also, the built-in trim kits are not interchangeable. A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. We suggest to view our GE PROFILE™ SERIES 2.2 CU. FT. COUNTERTOP MICROWAVE OVEN PEB7226SFSS and OPTIONAL 27" BUILT-IN TRIM KIT JX7227SFSS or OPTIONAL 30" BUILT-IN TRIM KIT JX7230SFSS. The only difference between the 27" and 30" trim kit is the trim frame. If the microwave is installed over a 27" or 30" wall oven, be sure to match the trim kit width to the oven. We suggest to view the Installation Instructions for cutout and clearance requirements at the following link: https://www.myapstore.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40727.pdf - Thanks for checking with us!

My old GE microwave JE1860SB is broken. It's installed with the trip kits above a cabinet. Would this new GE model fit in the old trim? It seems the dimension is quite close to JE1860SB (23-7/8 x 13-9/16 x 18-13/16).   (1 Answer)
