Please try again later.Hi condogirl - We suggest to view page 3 of the Installation Guide regarding clearance requirements: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-16781-3.pdf - If the exhaust duct is located at the rear of the dryer, the configuration of the ducting may require greater than 3" of rear clearance. The dryer is deeper than the washer, so the vent, electrical, and plumbing connections do not need additional clearance. The vent elbow can be turned to vent downward; however, for side venting, there is a side knockout that must be removed for side venting. Keep in touch! Sue
