Hi there, this machine washes and drys in one cycle. You can select each individual setting for the cycle, including switching the dry cycle on and off. Washing and drying can also be selected separately as well. It is possible to do wash and dry as separate functions if desired by choosing a different setting. A cycle on the normal setting takes about three hours and theres no need to change to dry- just set it and let it go
