I use one hand to pull, and the fingers on my other to pry. I'm right handed, so I use my left fingers. Try this: Hold your left hand out in front of you and move your thumb and index finger in a counterclockwise twisting motion like you were removing a bottle cap. This is the motion you will use to assist opening the door. Put your fingers in the crack of the door alongside the handle. While you pull (not yank) on the handle, twist your fingers in the gap. Your thumb presses against the freezer, your index finger presses the door. The combination of prying the door with your fingers while pulling the handle opens it with much more ease.

It doesn’t bother me because I know the freezer is secure and so are the items in the freezer. I like it and am quite satisfied. If the freezer door doesn’t close properly, it chimes and alerts you that it isn’t closed and captures your attention so therefore you can close the door and prevent the thawing of the food inside. A great purchase for my family.
