  • QuestionJust replaced old GE with this new GE refrigerator couple of days ago...everything seems fine so far,except the warm air blowing from the bottom....really noticeable, feel very warm air on the feet and the floor also becoming warm....is this normal?

    • Answer Hi Raji- Thanks for choosing our GE® 23.2 Cu. Ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator GSS23GSKSS! We certainly appreciate your loyalty. In the refrigeration process, it is normal that heat be expelled in the area under the refrigerator. This is normal air flow cooling the motor. Some floor coverings are sensitive and will discolor at these normal and safe temperatures.     • Answer Hi there - We appreciate this question, but our refrigerators are not rated in decibels at this time. Rest assured, though, that we design our appliances to operate as quietly as possible. Newer refrigerators sound different from older refrigerators, as modern refrigerators have more features and use newer technology. On page 30 of the owner's manual, you'll find a list and descriptions of normal operating sounds for this refrigerator. We hope this is insightful.   • QuestionGss23gmkes refrigator: ge... does anyone make wheel stops? When I open or close doors it moves back and forward

    • Answer Hi Larry- Thanks for choosing GE! Use caution when using a refrigerator installed on a hard floor. Due to the size of the doors and the strength of the door gaskets, it is possible that it may roll or move when one of the doors is opened. Since the rollers / wheels do not lock in place, it may help to place a piece of wood, a small wood wedge, or plastic furniture coaster (with felt on the bottom) under the wheels to prevent rolling. Re-level the refrigerator if necessary. Additional clearance may be needed to remove the drawers or to open the door(s) if the adjacent wall or cabinets are deeper than the refrigerator case depth (depth w/o doors). If installed against a wall, allow clearance of 14-3/16" on freezer side to remove bin.   • QuestionThe dimensions of this fridge fit in our space, but the "cut-out height" listed is larger than our space. The height to door hinge, 69.5", will just fit. Is that other inch necessary or just "nice to have leeway"?

  • QuestionI just purchased the fridge and there is a low pulsing sound at night. It might be normal and it wouldn't be a problem but our bedroom is very close to the fridge and the fridge is not in a built-in enclosure. Can I turn the sound off somehow? thanks
