  • QuestionIs there an ice maker and where is it!

    Asked by Taky.

    • Answer Yes, there is an ice maker. The mechanism that makes the ice is very small in the back of the freezer and does not take up any space. There is a bin that fills with ice in the top drawer of the freezer on the left side. I absolutely love it. I use ice many times throughout the day. I feel like new ice is made quickly. In case you are unaware, this refrigerator also has a water dispenser on the wall of the fridge just inside the left door. I would highly recommend this refrigerator.

  • Questionhow do you turn the icemaker off? it seems way back when I looked at it in the store, like it might be impossible to reach. Also, people complain the ice falls down in back and there is no way to get it out. Please comment on this. Thanks.

    Asked by dana.

    • Answer Hi Dana- Thanks for considering our GE® ENERGY STAR® GNE25JSKSS! The icemaker is located behind the ice storage bucket and can be easily accessed to turn off the icemaker. Also, when the bin fills to the level of the feeler arm, the ice maker will stop producing ice. Therefore, ice should not spill out of the ice bucket. If any ice should spill out, the ice bucket and freezer bin can easily be removed for access. Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. Keep in touch! SUEatGEA

  • QuestionWe just got this refrigerator today and love it! We turned on the turbo cool, but does it go off by itself? Also if ice cubes fall from.the ice maker behind the freezer how do we get them out?

    Asked by Caroline.

    • Answer Hello Caroline - The TurboCool™ setting "revs up" the refrigerator, cooling it quickly after frequent or extended door openings and also when hot items are placed inside. When this feature is selected, the compressor is activated and the fans turn on at high speed. even when the door is open. The fresh food temperature will revert to the coldest setting for an 8 hour period or until TurboCool is turned off (whichever comes first). It maximizes the cooling ability of the fresh food compartment. To turn the feature on or off, press and hold the Fridge pad for 3 seconds. On models with a touch screen (LCD) display, press Express Mode. You will typically see tC in the temperature display when set to TurboCool. It may look like an EC, an upside down F with a C, or something similar. This is not an error code, it is the Turbo Cool (tC) setting. Please see page 24 of the owner's manual for instructions on removing the freezer baskets to gain access to the area behind the freezer: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60758.pdf. -TREY@GEA

    Asked by Yllopny.

    • Answer Hello Yllopny - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. The overall height of this refrigerator is 69-7/8". The height to the top of the case is 68-5/8". There should be the following air clearances: 2" in the back, 1/8" on each side, and 1" at the top. The wheels cannot be lowered to make the refrigerator shorter. I hope this helps! • QuestionI have a 37 1/2 width opening in our utility room. The left side of the opening is a wall. The right side is cabinets. Will I have enough clearance to open the left french door to the refrigerator?

    Asked by Liz.

    • Answer My space is configured exactly the same as you describe. I have no problem opening the left door and accessing all the refrigerator space but I would have to pull the fridge forward in order to completely take out the left veggie bin or the bottom hostess tray. Those bins do pull forward enough to get my items in and out.
