We recently purchased this fridge knowing that we do not have a water line run in our house therefore we did not have the internal water/ice maker set up and the fridge is working fine. Best Buy’s Geek Squad actually offers an option to run a water line in your house for you if you choose. This is of course an additional charge but you do not need to block off the internal water. There is also an on/off switch for the ice maker you will want to make sure is switched off if the water is not hooked up to it. My wife and I thought something was wrong with the fridge because it would make this loud noise until we discovered the ice maker was on and trying to make ice.
