Check the "trouble shooting" section in the back of the manual. I don't know why you are having this issue. Is it plugged into the wall? It's not supposed to be plugged into an extension cord. But if you're like me, the cord is too short to reach an outlet. I used a "heavy duty" extension cord that also has a 3-prong plug. Did you try pressing the re-set button at the end of the cord? Try these things, if none of them work take it back!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Juan - Thanks for reaching out to us! It is normal for an air conditioner (window / built-in) to beep one time when the power cord is connected. All lights are on and double "8s" will appear in the LED display for 2 seconds. If there is no other operation to press other buttons, lights are off. After a power failure, all lights and double "8s" in the LED will display for 2 seconds and then run in the mode that ran before the power failure. If the power button does not work or you cannot choose cool mode and temperature, try unplugging for 30 seconds and try again. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to ask. We are also happy to help at GEAppliances.com. Sue
