“is there a drip pan/bucket? how is condensation dealt with or is that the exhaust hose or is it even an issue? (have never had a portable a/c but need is now immediate being that I have co-workers who are cold at 76°!)”

As the unit runs, it draws moisture from the air. This moisture condenses into water that is collected in the storage tank. Inside the unit, there is a slinger ring that picks up the water and flings it on the hot condenser so it can evaporate. Typically you will not need to empty the storage tank, except if there is excessive water. This may occur when you use Dehumidify Mode or when you first connect the air conditioner. If there is excess water (ex. from Dehumidify mode), you can either manually drain the storage tank or connect a garden hose to one of the drain ports on the back. Your portable air conditioner does not have a pump, so it relies on gravity to drain the storage tank. The connections are threaded to accept any standard garden hose. Some models have a single drain port for draining the excess water. Models with Dehumidify or Dehumidification Mode will have 2 drain ports on the back.
