I'm sorry, GE, but the question was not how to turn off the ice maker. It was how to reduce the amount of ice it dispenses, which I want to know also. I barely use a fraction of the ice this thing drops. Thanks.

The icemaker will produce seven cubes per cycle and that is approximately 100-130 cubes in a 24-period, depending on freezer compartment temperature, room temperature, number of door openings and other use conditions. Your icemaker should have a switch on the side and you can actually turn off the icemaker.
