    • Best answerGlad to answer- I owned GE Double Ovens purchased in 1990. My # JKP37GOl1WG (WG means White) is different than yours. BUT - Best advice - Call GE Customer Service - Give them YOUR model # and they will give you the model # of the new double ovens that will fit your space. Simple phone call. Mine ended up being 1/4 inch off, but GE offers a Double Oven Guarantee Fit Program where they will reimburse you up to $300 for the fit adjustment costs. (Forms on GE's site.) I'd also like to offer another question for you to ask GE if/when you call. (Maybe they can tell you - it would have save me a lot of headaches and cost.) Ask them what is the length of the "whip" on your old oven. (Yes I never even knew what one was.) GE's new ovens only have a 3 foot "whip". The whip on my older ovens was 6 foot. If your new one is different in length from what you have - you will need electrical adjustments. These two questions to GE before hand will save you tons of trouble.

  • Q: I have the space for a built in oven and my question is do you have to have a vent installed as well?  (2 Answers)

    By lou

    • Best answerHi Lou- No, wall ovens are not equipped to be vented to the outside. The oven vent is located below the door. Love the look of a stainless steel kitchen? • Q: Does this model oven include a broiler pan and oven racks?  (3 Answers)

    • AOvens do NOT include a broiler pan. (Someone told me this ahead of time). So if you have one - keep it. It is offered as an accessory. You receive 4 racks with the oven.

  • Q: Time to heat from room temperature to 350 degrees  (1 Answer)

    By inahurry

    • AHi inahurry- The ovens have hidden bake elements and can take approximately 15-20 minutes to fully preheat. Preheating is very important when baking at temperatures above 275 degrees or when baking items with short cooking times, such as cakes, cookies, biscuits and other pastries. Although preheating is not needed for meats, poultry, casseroles, when roasting or when cooking complete meals, it is recommended. Many newer models including JK3500SFSS have a Preheat that will signal when the oven has reached a temperature hot enough to add food, rather than when the set temperature is reached. Typically the range will signal after about 7-12 minutes, depending of the temperature you set. We test our ranges/wall ovens with prepackaged foods, frozen pizzas, baked goods, etc. We put the items in at the beep, and get good results. This can help save time in the kitchen, since you are not waiting longer for the preheat than necessary, in most cases. Recipes can differ, as can a food's preheat requirements. Most foods we tested don't require additional oven heating, though there are always exceptions. If you're finding a recipe isn't cooking properly, then you may want to turn on the oven a little bit before you start your food preparation to give it a little more time. You can also remove unused racks when using the oven for faster preheat, improved efficiency, and optimal performance. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA

    • AHi barneswyo- GE® JK3500SFSS offers Self-clean with Steam Clean option (both ovens), so you can clean your oven the way you want. Play Video: https://www.youtube.com/embed/2EMLPJKNkkE?rel=0 - A water line is not required. Steam Clean allows for quick cleaning of minor food spills at temperatures lower than the standard self-clean feature. Simply pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of a cool oven. Close the door and select Steam Clean. The cycle lasts about 30 minutes, and loosens and softens the grime in the oven. Once the cycle is complete, wipe out the moisture and food soils with a soft cloth. Because Steam Clean uses a lower temperature, the oven door does not automatically lock, like it does in Self-Clean mode. The self-clean uses heat at temperatures above normal cooking temperatures. During the cleaning cycle the oven is heated to about 880 degrees Fahrenheit (471° C.). At this temperature, food soils inside the oven decompose, leaving behind a small amount of ash. The leftover ash can be wiped out easily with a wet cloth. Thanks for choosing GE! SUE@GEA

    • AThere is no "plug" . The connection is made directly from wire to wire into an electrical box. I had to have a 220 box put in behind the Double Oven to facilitate the connection. Previous ovens had a longer (6 ft) "whip" which ran down to the basement and connected to a ceiling electrical box.
