  • QuestionMy washing machine is stuck with sensor light on and the motor keeps humming. I've unplugged it and held the pause button but it goes right back to flashing sensor and the humming noise.

    Asked by lbj50.

    • Answer Hi lbj50- We are sorry to hear of this unfortunate experience with your washer. Make sure when unplugged to leave at least 2 minutes (Per Owner's Manual: Unplug washer, wait 2 minutes, plug back in and press Start.). If the Fill light is flashing, check your house water supply and make sure both Hot and Cold are both fully on. As soon as the light starts to flash, the washer will initiate a 4 minute lockout period. The washer controls won’t respond/change during this time. After the 4 minutes, you can begin your cycle again. If you try to bypass the lock-out period by unplugging the washer, the 4 minute timer will start over again. • QuestionNone of the lights light up on my GE GTW330. When it was time to drain and spin it was like it got stuck on drain and would not do anything else. No lights are on and we tried to unplug and then hit the start button and it did the same thing. No reset.

    Asked by Peanut.

    • Answer Hi Peanut- Thanks for choosing GE! We are sorry to hear of the difficulty and glad to help. When you unplug to reset the electronics, be sure to wait at least 2 minutes before plugging back in. Also, if your washer senses a power spike, unbalanced load, or disruption in power it will send a fault code to your motor and may require the motor to be reset. Unplug the washer for 1 minute from the electrical outlet. Plug the washer back in and lift and lower the lid 6 times within a 12 second period. You have 30 seconds to start lifting and lowering the lid. The lid must be raised a minimum of 2" ensure the magnetic connection on the lid is interrupted. Make sure you close the lid completely each time. The motor has now been reset and is ready for you to start a cycle. View a video of the motor reset: https://www.youtube.com/embed/YZKqpoVX3t4?rel=0 - If the washer still does not operate properly, we recommend that you schedule service by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-432-2737 or schedule a service appointment online: http://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm?ICID=GEARsupportflyout-service - We hope this is helpful.
