Q: QuestionI have a standard size bath mat which gets a little heavy when it is washed. I usually watch it alone. Could the heaviness of the bath mat be an issue in the spin cycle and cause an imbalance load due to agitater? If so, how could I resolve it?

• A:Answer Any single weighted item may cause the tub to get out of balance. Add a similar style rug or one or two large bath towels to help balance the load.

Q: QuestionThere have been several times the washer seems to get unbalanced in the spin cycle. For example, I washed 2 pairs of jeans and a couple of shirts. No matter how many times I stopped the washer and rearranged the clothes it still was unbalanced.

• A:Answer Did you take the shipping rod out of the washer before using? It’s a long metal stick they put in to keep the wash tub from moving during shipping. It is taped in place on the bottom right side when facing and you have to take it out before using… other than that I have not had any problems with being “off balance” when spinning…

• A:Answer You are not alone my friend! My GE washer also leaked and caused major damage to my house (it was on the second floor). what you need to do is to through out the GE junk and buy a different brand. GE cannot make washers, if their lives depended on it. Mine lasted 6 months!
