Hi - Thanks for sharing. We are sorry to hear of this unfortunate experience and apologize for any inconvenience your Unitized Spacemaker unit has caused. We appreciate the opportunity to help. We suggest to view the following link (includes videos) UNITIZED WASHER NORMAL SOUNDS: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=36011 - Also, you must remove the shipping material just before sliding the unit into place. There will be either a shipping rod, Styrofoam shipping material, or cardboard base and cardboard cone. Consult your Installation Instructions for removal of the shipping material. Also, make sure the washer is level. See the following link for tips- TOP LOAD WASHER WALKING OR VIBRATING: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17445 - Any other sounds may require a service technician for diagnosis. If you need further assistance, please schedule online at GEAppliances.com/service or call 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We hope this is helpful. Keep in touch! Sue
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s in the paperwork that was handed to you with your new appliance. If you’re getting really loud noises when going into spin cycle, like the basket banging against something, your load is likely out of balance. You can’t have have your load all on one side of the basket, it must be evenly spread out around the basket. That will also be the case with newer washers that have free flowing, “unattached” baskets.
