“Why is having a 'simmer burner' a feature? I would think that if you want to SIMMER something, all you would need to do as a cook is to turn the flame to LOW. It seems as though these two simmer burners will NEVER get hot enough to boil water. I have the $1300 version of the GE stovetop, and NONE of my burners (except the 20,000 BTU burner can boil water. That's no exaggeration. I wonder if ALL GE stovetops have this inherent problem where the grates are so high that the tips of the flames are about 1 inch below the pot when on high setting.”
