• A:Answer Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. Over-the-range microwaves must be installed a minimum of 66" from the floor to the top of the microwave. They can be mounted higher than 66" from the floor; however, the further the microwave is from the cooktop, the vent draw capability will be affected. The 66" from the floor dimension will allow approximately 14"-16" between the cooktop and the bottom front of the microwave. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

• A:Answer Hello KitchenremodelKim. This is RICHARDatGEA. The control knobs on the JGP329SETSS are a Brushed Stainless over Plastic and are dishwasher safe. While I do not have the gauge available, all of our stainless steel products are tested for durability, appearance and quality. Thanks for the question!

Check out the Installation Instructions online at the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-10860-1.pdf - While a vent hood is not required by GE, it is recommended. Vents help to effectively remove smoke, grease, odors and moisture from the room. We suggest to check local codes for any venting requirements. Thanks for checking with us!

Q: QuestionCan I use this unit for Propane gas? I want to use this unit to replace my Jen-Air unit which has a Converter kit for Propane gas. Thank you

Q: QuestionWhy is having a 'simmer burner' a feature?I would think that if you want to SIMMER something, all you would need to do as a cook is to turn the flame to LOW. It seems as though these two simmer burners will NEVER get hot enough to boil water. I have the $1300 version of the GE stovetop, and NONE of my burners (except the 20,000 BTU burner can boil water. That's no exaggeration. I wonder if ALL GE stovetops have this inherent problem where the grates are so high that the tips of the flames are about 1 inch below the pot when on high setting.

Sealed burner gas ranges often have a "simmer" burner which can offer a temperature below boiling and won't ruin delicate foods or sauces. The simmer burner delivers a low setting of 140 degrees Fahrenheit which is 72 degrees below boiling. I hope this helps? Thanks for checking with us!

Q: Questionwhat is the ACTUAL length/width of the drop-in portion. I show the cutout requires 28 1/2", but is that the actual length of the drop-in portion? My current unit requires a cutout of 28 5/16, and I can't take it out to measure the actual length.
