“cleaning I misplaced the instructions that came with my stove. My son got oil all over the door of the oven, and possibly on other sides, and bottom. He turned it on this morning to reheat, and it started smoking. Now the whole house smells of burnt oil. How is the best way to clean this? Regular soap and water? Should we use Dawn soap? Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. Yes, you can use a mixture of a mild soap and water or a vinegar and water solution to wipe the painted surfaces of the door. This can also be used on the porcelain oven interior as well, as long as the oven is cool. Be certain to wipe any soap residue away with a clean cloth. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
