  • QuestionI bought this unit last June 2022 and only used it a few months in the summer, I just got it out to use this summer and I’m getting an error code “E5” however there is nothing in the manual in regards to this error??

    Asked by Chris.

    • Answer It seems like "E5" is not a standard error code for the GE - 350 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner. However, error codes can vary depending on the specific model and manufacturer. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue: 1. **Power Cycle:** Try unplugging the unit for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. Sometimes, a simple power cycle can reset the system and clear error codes. 2. **Check for Obstructions:** Ensure that there are no obstructions blocking the airflow around the air conditioner or blocking the air intake and exhaust vents. 3. **Inspect the Remote Control:** If the error code is displayed on the remote control, check if the batteries are inserted correctly and have enough power. Try replacing the batteries if necessary. 4. **Contact Customer Support:** If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's best to contact GE's customer support for assistance. They may be able to provide more information about the error code "E5" and offer further troubleshooting steps or arrange for a repair if needed. If the unit is still under warranty, be sure to mention this when contacting customer support, as they may be able to offer a warranty repair or replacement.

  • QuestionThe hose is not long enough to reach the hole when both window slats are used and it popped out of the ring and we can't put the ring back on.

    Asked by Idyllwild.

    • Answer Did u try twisting the ring onto the hose? Also depending on the orientation of your window, you can position the hole to be lower, You could prob contact the manufacturer to see if a longer hose is available?

  • QuestionWhy is the power light ON when the unit is OFF and OFF when the unit is ON? this is backwards...

    Asked by C4H.

    • Answer It sounds like there may be an issue with the power indicator light on your GE - 350 Sq. Ft. 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner. Here are a few potential reasons for this problem: 1. **Faulty Wiring or Circuitry:** There could be a wiring issue or malfunction in the circuitry of the air conditioner that's causing the power indicator light to behave incorrectly. 2. **Misalignment:** It's possible that the indicator light's connection or alignment with the power switch is off, causing it to illuminate when the unit is off and vice versa. 3. **Programming Error:** There might be a programming error in the unit's control system, causing the indicator light to operate opposite to its intended function. 4. **Manufacturing Defect:** In rare cases, a manufacturing defect could be the cause of the issue. To address this problem, you may need to: - **Check the User Manual:** Review the user manual to ensure that the power indicator light is not meant to operate in this manner. If it's supposed to function differently, there may be a problem with your unit. - **Contact Customer Support:** Reach out to GE's customer support for assistance. They can provide troubleshooting steps or arrange for a repair or replacement if necessary. - **Professional Inspection:** If the air conditioner is still under warranty or if you're uncomfortable troubleshooting it yourself, consider contacting a professional technician to inspect the unit and diagnose the issue. By addressing the problem promptly, you can ensure that your air conditioner operates correctly and efficiently.

When the Water Full indicator (“FL” on the control panel display) illuminates when the internal water tank has filled with condensed water. To Empty the Internal Water Tank: 1. Remove the cap and the rubber plug and drain the water tank. 4. Re-insert the drain plug and screw the cap snugly into place. 5. Plug in or reconnect power. We hope this is helpful. • QuestionWhat does self or auto evaporating mean?I do not want to drain the water so is this right for me?

    Asked by char.

    • Answer Hello. We appreciate your interest in this portable air conditioner and its auto evaporation technology! This technology allows the unit to evaporate any water it collects; in most room conditions, there is therefore no need to empty a bucket. In very humid conditions some water may collect, and please also note that if you wish to dehumidify the space you may need to empty the receptacle and/or attach a drain hose if you want to dehumidify for an extended time. But in most conditions the auto evaporating technology will allow you to cool your space down with maximum convenience! We are confident this air conditioner would be a great fit for you, and are happy to help with any other concerns. All the best! -Sarah@GEA
