A:AnswerHello- Thank you for your purchase. We are so glad to hear your portable air-conditioner is cooling well. We are happy to help! After setting the temperature in cooling mode, the display will not change to room temperature. The display will only provide the set temperature in the display. We apologize for the confusion created by the manual. ~Your Portable AC removes heat and humidity from the room. Under certain conditions like extreme humidity or trying to cool multiple rooms, the AC may not be able to evaporate all the water it is removing. Make sure that the doors and windows in the room you are cooling are closed. If you drain the water from the base of the unit, following the instructions in the Use & Care Manual, you can turn the unit back on and it will resume operation. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to us again. We are here to help! Joyce@GEA

A:AnswerHi there! We appreciate the question and apologize for any sleep you might have lost. The only setting that will run continuously is Fan. For quieter & nighttime cooling, we recommend selecting the
COOL mode and LOW fan speed with a middle set temperature. We hope this helps! - John@GEAppliances
A:AnswerHello and thanks so much for reaching out about your portable air conditioner. Exhaust extensions are not available for these, as the exhaust should not be extended. The air conditioner may not operate correctly if the exhaust is extended. We apologize for the inconvenience. - John@GEAppliances
A:AnswerThanks so much for choosing GEA to keep you cool this summer! Yes, if the tank should fill with water, FL will appear on the control panel and the unit will shut off. In cool mode on a regular day, this should not be a problem due to the Auto-Evaporation feature. Stay cool! - John@GEAppliances
A:AnswerHey there, and thanks for taking the time to reach out to us! We appreciate your interest in this unit. Portable air conditioners do need to be vented to the outside in order to properly cool the room. The air conditioning process cools a space by moving the warm humid air outside, so the air conditioner venting through the exhaust hose is essential. Additionally, we would not recommend using a longer hose or extending it, or the unit will not cool well and will be at risk of overheating. We hope this clears everything up for you, but are happy to help with any additional questions or concerns. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA
A:AnswerHi there, and thanks for reaching out. We appreciate the time you took to contact us, though we hate to hear you've had an issue with auto evaporation and having to empty the drain. We know that must be concerning. Unfortunately, there is no way to check the auto evaporation function. While the unit is meant to evaporate in this way, if the level of humidity is higher than usual you may still need to empty the water tank, especially if humidity has been high for several days in a row. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We are happy to help if you have any further questions or concerns. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

A:AnswerHello. Thank you for asking your question about this portable air conditioner. Our room air conditioners of either window or portable are designed to be used in a totally enclosed area. We might suggest just purchasing a box fan for an outside area or a floor fan that oscillates. We hope this helps you make your decision. Stay well and cool. Geoff@GEA
A:AnswerHello,
Thanks for asking! We're glad to have your interest and we'd be happy to help. We found that the thermostat has the ability of being set between 64-86 degrees. It will continue to draw air in from the room and cool that air to the best of its ability to reach the selected temperature setting. Have a great day!

A:Answerthe best buy rep told me to keep the unit standing upright for at least an hour before using so that the freon settles in the tank, if you don't there could be freezing issues or other problems in its use, hope that helps for a future use

A:AnswerAnthony, I think your machine is a lemon. Return for a replacement or refund. You probably have a leak somewhere in the enclosed system. In my experience, the self-evaporating machines do not fill regularly—possibly on extremely humid days. With my previous units, I only had to drain the machine when something in the system leaked, which is next to impossible to fix these days.
