• Hi Jodi- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Yes, the washer will fill with the lid open when using a manual load size selection. It will also fill with the lid open when using PreciseFill, but only once load-sensing is complete and the lid unlocks. For optimum results, we recommend adding the detergent before adding clothes and then loosely add items around the agitator. Thanks for checking with us!
