Usually inside the detergent cap is graduated for different load sizes. Each detergent is different.

Please try again later.Hi Deborah- When using high efficiency or concentrated detergents, consult the product label (Tide HE bottle) to determine amount required for optimum performance. Excessive detergent will negatively impact wash performance. If the clothes are heavily soiled, you may need to increase the amount of detergent. If your water is soft, you may need less detergent.
