QuestionAt what point in the cycle does the fabric softener dispense? ...during wash cycle or rinse?

- Answer Hi oldschool - This model has an automatic fabric softener dispenser that will dispense the softener during the rinse cycle. QuestionToday, a soak cycle came on when I chose delicates. I don't want that. Is there any way to stop that or do I need to call a repairman?

- Answer Hi Joanne- The Soak indicator will light up during the Delicates cycle. This is because Delicates has periods of soak during the wash cycle so that it is more gentle on clothes. It will agitate, soak, agitate, soak, and so on until the end of the cycle. This is normal. Thanks for choosing GE! SUE@GEA

QuestionWith my old washer, for extra cleaning, I could run clothes thru the wash part of the cycle then before the soapy water spun out, turn the knob back to the beginning of the wash cycle and let them wash longer. Can this machine do that?

- Answer Hi JustWondering- The cycle selector knob can be turned in either direction. Turning the knob after starting a cycle will stop the washer and change the cycle/options to the new selection. Press Start to begin the new cycle selection. The washer will not drain after changing the cycle. Also, this model is equipped with Auto Soak - Loosens stains by soaking up to 2 hours (15 min, 30 min, 1 Hr, 2 Hr). - Answer Hi hatethiswasher- We have great news! A Rinse cycle can be accomplished by selecting the Deep Rinse and/or 2nd Rinse option in conjunction with the Drain & Spin cycle and it will perform a Rinse & Spin. QuestionI have to have a washing machine , top loader, with no more than 54 inches high when opened due to cabinet above . How high is this machine when opened all the way up?

- Answer My washer opens up to 53 1/2 inches... my cabinet starts at 54 inches and the opened lid just clears. Now, sometimes, it lies against the very bottom of the cabinet's edge, so you may need to take into account how far out your machine can go from the wall. My machine sits about 6 inches from the wall and the cabinets are 12 inches deep. Hope this helps!

- Answer Hi Shel. Yes, that is normal for HE mode operations(saves water/resources). I typically don't use auto level mode as I believe it's going to wear out the clothes faster. You can also set Low/Med/High/Super High according to your desires.

- Answer Hi Kayla- Thanks for choosing GE! We hope you are enjoying your new washer. To cancel the cycle, press and hold Start/Pause for 3 seconds. Also, you can run Drain & Spin cycle. Turning the knob after starting a cycle will stop the washer and change the cycle options to the new selection (Drain & Spin). Press Start to begin the new cycle selection. We hope this is helpful. This cycle provides a Deep Fill/max fill wash water level to wash bulky items. Also incorporates a Deep Fill rinse to effectively rinse bulky items and a low spin speed appropriate for these items. - Answer The GE washing machine, model # GTW460ASJWW 4.2CF does exactly what you want. Has an agitator that moves clothes around and you can choose your own load size in order to completely submerge your clothes in water. We have 2 sets of washers and dryers hooked up at our home. We first bought the stackable GE washer dryer with agitator because we didn't like our front loaders for all the reasons you mentioned. We kept our front loaders to use as spares but go so fed up with them we decided to just get rid of them for a new set with all the qualities you want. The tube is huge also!

- Answer Hello Tish - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and we are happy to help you. The water level should be set at Super and you want to press the Deep Fill button once before starting the cycle to add an incremental amount of water to the wash load. Holding the Deep Fill button for 3 seconds will provide the deepest fill level possible. When using the Deep Fill feature, you should have more than one-fourth tub of water. If this does not help, we recommend contacting GE Factory Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance. Thanks for checking with us!
