Microban is an additive that is added to the gasket material. It essentially prohibits the existence/growth of common bacteria, yeast, molds, and fungi. It’s added during the manufacturing of the gasket so it’s infused with the rubber from the point of manufacture. No need to reapply anything. Seems to work very well as I have had none of those issues over the past 30 months of owning this machine.
