“I am considering purchasing, but I am worried about the blue circular rubber -- does that get stained? My last washing machine had the same rubber circle in grey and it got stained with grime and grease (impossible to remove). Can anyone answer?”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.As with all front load washers it is a good policy to clean/dry the door gasket after each use. The GE has a unique venting system which aids in this effort.
