If you really need a good soak you could turn it too bedding what that allow it to do is give more soak time and you could turn the soil setting to extra heavy I never had a problem with my clothes stinking after, but one thing is there is a "break in" period cuz of the gasket,it left a type of rubber smell I guess it's a type of coating used for shipping purpose but after like 3-6 loads it was gone.
