  • QuestionI have a GE pedestal/drawer model number SBSD137H5MV. Is that pedestal compatible with this washer? If not, is it compatible with any GE washers currently available? My old washer died, trying to avoid buying a new pedestal.

    • Answer Hi MikeOAZ - Model GFW480SPKRR is compatible with Optional Pedestal Accessory GFP1328PKRR only. Pedestal SBSD137H is compatible with GE® 4.5 cu. ft. Capacity Front Load ENERGY STAR® Washer with Steam GFW450SSMWW (White)- GFW450SPMDG (Diamond Gray). When installing on pedestal SBSD137, there is curvature of the bottom panel on the washer and dryer front panels. Whenever installing on pedestals, the washer feet are to be removed and the dryer feet are to be set at minimum travel, per the installation guide. This will help to minimize this gap.   • QuestionI am wondering how long the Quick Wash cycle is on this model? Does it depend on how large/heavy the load is? Thanks!

    • Answer Hi Anne- Quick Wash is for small loads of lightly soiled items that are needed in a hurry. Cycle time is approximately 30 minutes (no options). Options Available: Stain Removal Guide, Prewash, Extra Rinse, Delay Wash, Tumble Care. When selected, these options will add additional time to the cycle. Occasionally, the washer may need to add more time to the cycle. This is mainly due to automatic load redistributions to better balance the load and reduce vibration. It is normal operation for the washer to add time to the cycle to rebalance the load. Common causes of out-of-balance loads or longer cycle times are a clogged pump filter, un-level washer, or exceeding the recommended maximum load sizes. It also has TIME SAVER option when you need to get a full load of clothes clean in only 37 minutes.   • QuestionHi can you change the door hinge to be on the right so that the door opens towards the right instead of towards the left?

    • Answer Hi Santorini- Front-load washers have the hinge on the left side of the door and open to the left only. They do not have reversible doors because of the electronics involved with the door lock mechanism. Door swing is approximately 150-160 degrees. The door is reversible on the matching dryer.     • Answer It says that the washer is HE...however like a lot of washers when it says it has 5 minutes to go, five minutes translates to 15 minutes in real time. So I am not sure how this is efficient.

    • Answer Hi Hmderr- Yes, the washer can accommodate a king size comforter. Any size comforter will wash properly in our washers as long as it fits behind the washer tub gasket and is not stuffed into the tub tightly. Choose the Bulky Items cycle for large coats, bed spreads, mattress covers, sleeping bags, and similar large bulky items.
