  • QuestionAre these coils sensi-temp? I'm hoping they are not for canning purposes.

    Asked by Kathi.

    • Answer Hi Kathi - Thanks for viewing GE Model JBS160DMWW! Yes, starting in 2018, UL regulation requires all coil top ranges to have temperature limiting capabilities to reduce the risk of cooktop oil and grease fires. As a result, our electric coil burners now use Sensi-Temp Technology. Take a look at the following link- COIL BURNERS - SENSI-TEMP TECHNOLOGY: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=37448 - Also, you can use a flat-bottomed canner with this range. • QuestionI was using my wok and I need coils to stay on high. Anyway to do this?

    Asked by Jojo.

    • Answer Hi there - To set the surface burners, push the knob in and turn in either direction to the setting you want (in this case, "Hi" for a high setting). We recommend only using a flat-bottomed wok that has the same diameter as the surface element to ensure proper contact. It's also important to note that woks with support rings should not be used because they will not heat on the cooktop. We hope this is helpful. Please reach out to us directly if you have additional questions - we're always happy to help. Be well, Kelsey@GEA
