Hello. We appreciate you reaching out with this great question – we know how important being able to use your stove if there’s a power failure can be, and we’re glad to advise. If the power fails, the oven is inoperable and you should not attempt to operate it. But the surface burners can be lit with a match; using extreme caution, you can hold a lit match near the ports beneath the surface burner cap, then slowly turn the knob to the LITE position. Once lit, the burners will operate normally.
