“I am concerned about the not drain and spin ability mentioned in one of the reviews. Has this been confirmed? Can you wash heavy large items like dog blankets (with hair) in this machine?”

The washer has a "rinse & spin" cycle that can include both or only the spin by de-selecting the "extra rinse" button.

As long as the blanket fits in the washer loosely, it can properly be washed in this unit.
