Q: QuestionWhat are the differences between this model (5.0 cubic ft) and the 4.8 cubic ft model besides load capacity? Or is that the only difference?

Q: QuestionHi please explain how the ultra vent works. I read somewhere that it turns on every 15 minutes and stays on for 8 hours. Does it take 8 hours to dry out an empty dryer!? Also is this an automatic setting, if not can it be turned on in the app? Thank you

• A:Answer I can't seem to turn it on with the app, i wish i could, and i wish it would just start automatically right after a cycle ends so to keep laundry fresh. My LG washer and dryer both had extended tumble type settings and these unfortunately do not, a glaring huge error and step backwords in my book.

Q: QuestionCan the WiFi be shut off? I don’t want it searching for a signal all day and night. I understand that i don’t have to use the WiFi but can it be shut off?

• A:Answer I think Cher is asking if and how it can be shut off AFTER initial setup. Cher you can presumably use/download your internet provider's app e.g. Xfinity that allows you to see all devices in the house that use wifi and then you can pick and choose which device to turn off from there, including the laundry machines.

Q: QuestionThe manual says to press the My Settings Pad to store setting on my dryer. I don't see a settings pad on the front panel. If like to set the wrinkle guard default to "on."

• A:Answer In response to the official response to this question...I am staring at my dryer manual right now and the "My Settings" section is missing the "(on some models)" text. Therefore, it seems completely logical that we all would expect it to be available. And, what a completely lame thing to leave off a "smart" dryer. The inability to customize it is not very smart at all.

• A:Answer There are 3 settings for the chime volume and a no chime option as well. I don't think the chime is loud enough but I wonder if you accidently turned it off.

Q: QuestionThe information says the washer is 34 inches deep. does that 34 inches accommodate the hoses and drain lines from the back of the washer or does the washer have to be left a few inches out from the wall? I ask because of the limited room.

• A:Answer I have limited depth from the wall as well. If you don't use the hose hanger you can squeeze it, front to back, into 37 inches including the curved front door.

• A:Answer Hi Mikey - Thanks for considering GE Model # GFW850SPNRS! The basket alternates spin direction between counter-clockwise and clockwise during ‘wash phase’. The basket always spins counter-clockwise during ‘spin phase’. The basket does not do an ‘untangling routine’ during/after a redistribution, however it does do a ‘prep step’ that spins clockwise to determine characteristic about the unique load in the basket before starting the dBT (Dynamic Balancing Technology) activity.
