Q: QuestionI've had my GE 5.0 High Eff. for 4 years. On the spin cycle it continues to attempt balancing but will not balance. The machine jumps and vibrates as if its coming apart. It does this with small or large loads. We have stop using it. Need repairman.
Asked by ATE.
- A:Answer Hello- We are sorry to hear you are having these issues. All GE Appliances washer tubs move freely within our exclusive auto balance suspension system. It is a rod and spring floating suspension, designed to withstand extensive out of balance situations without the need for an "out of balance" switch. Anti-Vibration Pads may be a good option for you to try. The part number is WX17X10001CA. ~GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737. Q: QuestionGE 8500 ultra-fresh shaking very bad the washer will actually move about an inch back and forth
Asked by arnbond.
- A:Answer Hi there - We're so sorry that your washer is shaking and moving during operation. This would be quite discouraging and we can understand your worriedness. When a washer "walks" like this, that can indicate that the leveling legs are not even. Push and pull on the back right and then back left of your washer to check if it is level. If the washer is uneven, adjust the rubber leveling legs so they are all firmly touching the floor and locked in place. Page 22 of the owner's manual offers more guidance on how to do this: https://files.bbystatic.com/3%2FvTY6tIA8U6BkU58%2Bc4iA%3D%3D/152d0b71-004b-4d01-ad63-9bf648a7418f.pdf. You can also want to make sure the load is balanced, and if not, redistribute the clothes inside. More troubleshooting tips can be found on page 28 of the same manual, linked above. We hope this helps! Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns - we're always glad to assist. Best, Kelsey@GEA

Q: QuestionSince this model does not have a permanent press cycle, what cycle is recommended in place of perm press?
Asked by BarryMcKokinner.
- A:Answer Hi! Thanks for asking. In this case, we'd recommend using the Normal cycle. If you're concerned about wrinkles, you can also try using the Power Steam option. This option adds steam into the washer before the wash cycle begins to assist with loosening stains on the NORMAL, WHITES, TOWELS, BULKY Bedding, SANITIZE+Allergen and POWER CLEAN cycles. - To use it, just follow these steps: 1. Press the Power pad to “wake up” the washer and select a wash cycle. 2. Press the POWER STEAM pad to activate steam. 3. Press the Start/Pause pad. - Hope this helps! Best wishes. -Michael@GEA

Q: Questionwhich cycles allow to use smart dispense feature?
Asked by mewantwasher.
- A:Answer Hello- We appreciate your question and are happy to help! The Smart dispense is available on most cycles. However there are so many combinations of cycles that you can select there may be one that won't allow. If the light is not illuminated and pressing the Smart Dispense pad results in a beeping tone, then Smart Dispense isn't allowed for the cycle that has been selected. Detergent will need to be added directly to the detergent compartment for these cycles. If you have any additional questions in the future, please let us know. We are here to help! Joyce@GEA

Q: QuestionWith the GE Washer front loader, I accidently hit the power button off after starting machine, do I have to put more liquid laundry detergent in it to start over?
Asked by Funnyface.
- A:Answer Hey there, and thanks for reaching out to us! We certainly understand your concern if you accidentally hit that button and are happy to clarify. You should only need to press the Start button to start a wash cycle. If the washer is paused, pressing Start again would usually be enough to restart; if it had time to turn off completely you may need to push Power and then Start. Please note that if the cycle is paused and not restarted within 15 minutes, the current wash cycle is canceled and in that case you may need to start over. On this model, the detergent should be flushed from the detergent dispenser at the beginning of the wash cycle. If you turn the washer back on and the detergent either hasn’t dispensed yet, or has dispensed but the water hasn’t drained, putting in more detergent shouldn’t be necessary. We hope this information helps, and are available for any other concerns or questions. Wishing you all the best! -Sarah@GEA
