I’m not sure about cost to repair, but the hidden coil heats up quite quickly and the bottom of the stove is very easy to clean.

The Hidden Bake element gives your range a "sleeker" look and allows for easier cleaning. This element does take more time to preheat since the element is hidden. Both the hidden bake and traditional coil will allow you to perfectly bake whatever dish you are preparing; it really comes down to your personal preference.
