“The regulations about sense-temp coils apply to the people who manufacture & sell appliances. As a consumer, I can do what I want with a range I own. Are the coils (sensitive-temp & regular) interchangeable, if I choose to change sensi-temp to regular?”

Hi ampenny3 - Starting in 2018, UL regulation requires all coil top ranges to have temperature limiting capabilities to reduce the risk of cooktop oil and grease fires. As a result, our electric coil burners now use Sensi-Temp Technology. Sensi-temp burners on ranges manufactured on or after the regulatory change cannot be replaced without Sensi-Temp Technology elements.
