Hi DD - Thanks for considering GE! Glass cooktops are made of a durable, scratch-resistant glass ceramic material. They are not scratch proof, so it is important to use the proper cookware and follow proper cleaning procedures. Do not use cookware with rough bottoms, like cast iron. The bottoms of the pans should be a "smooth" flat surface. Do not slide cookware across the cooktop surface. Keeping your range looking new is easy if you watch this quick use and care video. From selecting the best cleaners, proper maintenance practices, to identifying the proper cookware this video will show you all you need to know about enjoying your new range.
